Hooks easily dispatched Elite on Sunday, 15-2.
Hooks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Daniel Zamora doubled, scoring two runs, and Dominick Coro singled, scoring one run.
Hooks added three runs in the second. Steven Mock tripled, making the score 6-0.
Hooks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when John Otterson doubled, scoring two runs, and Zamora singled, scoring one run.
Dustin Thompson earned the win for Hooks. The righty surrendered four hits and one run over four innings, striking out two and walking none. AJ took the loss for Elite. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 13 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, striking out four and walking three. Zamora collected the save.
Hooks piled up 15 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Nick Zamora led Hooks with three hits in four at bats. Otterson, Zamora, and Mock each drove in three runs for Hooks. Thompson and Coro each collected multiple hits for Hooks. Hooks turned one double play in the game.
Leadoff hitter Trent led Elite with two hits in three at bats. Bush led Elite with one run batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day.
